As originally reported by Andrea Aime:
"The source code is a mish mash of coding conventions... some parts use tabs, others use space. It would be advisable to grab a coding convention (maybe the geoserver
or geotools one) and then run a code cleanup with Eclipse."

But that does not take care of imports or tabs vs. spaces, need to revisit with Jalopy.
