• Ability to seed the cache
• Metatiling
• Ability to set cache control expiry headers (or inherit from geoserver)
  • The latter is a slippery slope, see developers/cache_expiration
• Check quality of image compression, especially for PNG8 - It's acceptable, 600 bytes for white tiles

Notes:

Please read the updated configuration notes and the instructions for the seeding mechanism. One of the main features of this release, and the cause of a rewrite of the internals, is metatiling support. If you use it, make sure you look out for GEOS-1293 because it can be quite tricky to see.

Tighter integration with GeoServer has been bumped to 0.7. It is quite possible that there will be an 0.6.5 with bug fixes, depending on how many people report.

Important changes:

Please note that some configuration directives have changed (example: "url" is now "wmsurl") and instead of requesting geowebcache/geowebcache, your client should be pointed to geowebcache/wms.
